Esteban Garcia is the Associate Bursar at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) and currently serves as the co-chair of the Undocumented Students Support Team at SCSU. As leader of the undocumented students support team, Esteban has helped SCSU respond to the needs of students by identifying and breaking down barriers faced by undocumented students and their families; engaging the campus community in conversations about immigration issues, and educating the community about the realities of being an immigrant in the United States; and advocating for policies that support students at the campus, state, and national levels.
Some of Esteban’s accomplishments at SCSU include partnering with immigrant rights groups to deliver UndocuPeer training sessions for Faculty, Staff, and Student Leaders. Presenting at the College Board’s “Prepárate 2019” conference in San Antonio, TX. Creating an extensive website that has been a model for other institutions in Connecticut. Developing a deportation protocol to assist students and their family members. Hosting an educators conference attended by more than 100 K-12 and Higher Education professionals, testifying in front of the Connecticut Legislature advocating for a financial aid bill, and participating in a town hall discussion with Senator Richard Blumenthal on the effects of Trump Administration’s decision to rescind DACA.

Morgan Donovan Hall, Director of Transfer Admission, University of Massachusetts, Amherst
Morgan Donovan-Hall currently serves as Director of Transfer Admissions at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She grew up in Western, Massachusetts and attended the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees, earning a Bachelor’s in History and Master of Public Policy with a focus on higher education. During her graduate program, she interned in the transfer advising office and developed a love of working with transfers. After graduating, she landed her dream job as the Assistant Director of Transfer Admission at Umass, Amherst. Since then, her responsibilities have increased, including international transfer credit evaluator, which she has been doing for the last seven years. She currently serves as the transfer counselor of BHCC, RCC, and MassBay. In between visits, she looks for opportunities to see a show or just enjoy the Boston area. In her free time, she can be found gardening and spending time with her husband and family.
Michael Schindel, Assistant Director and International Student Advisor, Southern Connecticut State University
Michael Schindel is the Assistant Director and International Student Advisor for the Office of
International Education at Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU). In that role, he assists
primarily with the immigration concerns of the population of matriculating international students at the university including the seamless transfer of visa record between U.S. institutions. He acts as a liaison during the admissions process which includes submission of an evaluation of international credentials and has worked with the university transfer services to discuss the inclusion of such credits in the degree. He also serves on the DREAMERS Action Alliance, the university committee to support undocumented students and is the faculty advisor for Global Brigades, an international service learning organization. He holds a Master’s of Fine Arts in creative writing from SCSU.
Victor Silva, Transfer Admission, University of Rhode Island
Victor is a member of the transfer admission team at the University of Rhode Island. He has spent his career working with both transfer students and international students. He began in transfer admission at Johnson & Wales University in 2009 and then transitioned to Roger Williams University as the Associate Director of Transfer Admission in 2012. Shortly thereafter, he began his career in international admission as the Director of International Relations for Latin America and the Caribbean at Johnson & Wales University. He remained in that position until August of 2018 when he began working for an international higher education consulting firm, Enrollment Advisory Group, where he was responsible for recruitment of students from Latin American and the Caribbean for their college partners. As of this September, he has returned to the world of transfer admission at the University of Rhode Island.
