Dr. mary e. dunn lifetime achievement in transfer award
The Dr. Mary E. Dunn Lifetime Achievement in Transfer Award was established in 2024 to honor our esteemed colleague, Mary Dunn. Mary was a true transfer advocate throughout her years at UMass Boston, at Regis College and at her alma mater, Salem State University. She was dedicated to NETA and its mission, having served on the board and as President. Mary fiercely advocated for transfer students, not just on an individual basis, but also on that of high-level campus and state policies that she knew would make a significant difference in the lives of transfer students looking to complete their degree. On January 22, 2024, Mary lost her battle with metastatic lung cancer.
This award recognizes individuals who have retired or who are near the end of their careers and who have made significant and sustained contributions to transfer in New England by way of their advocacy, leadership, or mentoring.
